Photographer Spotlight: Kim Jew
I’m Kim Jew, a leading portrait photographer in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
My fascination with photography started after I bought my first camera in high school. I was so besotted that I never wanted to put it down, and shortly afterward, I set up a darkroom in my parents’ garage to develop my pictures.
Eventually, I decided to pursue photography as a career, so I left New Mexico to study at the Photography Institute of America in Atlanta in 1974. The weeks and months seem to fly by, and I soon completed my course and moved back home to start a studio in 1976.
Over the past forty-four years, I’ve had the pleasure of capturing a whole host of celebrities through my lens. I’ve even clicked images of every US president since Bill Clinton, and other well-known personalities that include Jay Leno, and the late Steve Jobs.
The quality of these photos has built up my reputation, which has allowed my business to grow through word of mouth referrals. Consequently, in recent years I have focused on producing portraits of families, seniors, and children a little closer to home.
By being friendly, honest, and reliable, I bring out the best in my clients and make them look glamorous. I also attribute my success in making people feel confident about the way they look, so they can walk out of my studio with their head held high.
I endeavor to exceed my client’s expectations, and the gratitude that I receive from clients after they view the final images fills me with immense satisfaction.
When I am not clicking photos, I enjoy music, and my favorite hobby is playing my guitar.
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
